What is the Bridgedom League and how does the Elo work?

The Bridgedom League is the one against one competitive mode. Every match is 6 hands with auction and card play that both players play, and the result is compared by IMPs. Winning adds Elo points and losing subtracts them, depending on the level gap with your opponent and on the margin of the match. Your Elo places you in one of the seven divisions —Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Master and Dom— with automatic promotion and relegation.

Can I play Bridge online against the computer?

Yes. Bridgedom's robots bid with a specialised engine that implements the conventions at professional level, and play the cards with a Monte Carlo simulation evaluated by a Double Dummy solver. You can play single hands or practise card play against them choosing their level, from beginner to expert, and they also fill the empty seats in your private room.

Can I play Bridge online with friends?

Yes. Create your private room, share the link and invite whoever you like: there are four seats, table chat, spectators and a turn timer, and bots fill any seats left empty. You can also challenge a friend one against one, play team matches across two tables, or enter a tournament at your club together.

Do I need to download an app?

Do I need to create an account?

Yes. Creating an account is free and takes seconds: all you need is an email. Your account stores your progress, your stats and your Elo rating, and it's what lets you compare yourself with other players.

How do daily challenges work?

Every day we publish 4 card play hands that are the same for everyone. You play them whenever you like and your result is compared with everyone else's in that day's leaderboard. It's the perfect way to measure your level and improve.

Can I play against other players in real time?

Yes. You can create your own room and share the link to play with friends in real time, with chat and spectators, and with bots filling any empty seats. There are also two-table team matches scored in IMPs, club pairs tournaments and head-to-head League games. Daily challenges and tournaments, by contrast, are asynchronous: play whenever you like and results are compared at the end of the day.

How long does a game of online Bridge take?

A single hand takes a few minutes. The daily challenge and the daily tournament are 4 hands each, and a League match is 6. You don't have to play them in one sitting: you can stop halfway and carry on later, always within the match deadline.

Can I learn to play Bridge from scratch?

Yes. There are over 40 free lessons covering everything from the basic rules and point count to SAYC, Stayman, Blackwood and advanced techniques such as finesses, squeezes and endplays. The competitive mode

Bridgedom League: climb divisions match after match

The Bridgedom League is the platform's competitive mode and the best way to measure your real level. Every match is one against one over 6 hands: you and your opponent play exactly the same hands, with full auction and card play, and the results are compared by IMPs at the end.

Winning adds Elo points and losing subtracts them. How many depends on the level gap with your opponent and on the IMP margin of the match: beating someone stronger than you is worth more. That Elo places you in one of the seven divisions, and you go up or down automatically.

6 full hands: Every match is 6 hands with auction and card play. Both of you play the same hands, so the winner is whoever plays them better, not whoever gets the better cards.
Scored by IMPs and Elo: The match is settled on IMPs, and that margin feeds your Elo rating using the standard chess formula, adapted to Bridge.
Opponents at your level: Matchmaking looks for players with an Elo close to yours. You can start playing your hands even before an opponent joins: when they do, the results are compared.
At your pace, with a deadline: You don't need to be online at the same time: each player plays their hands whenever they want, within the match deadline. Whoever doesn't finish in time loses with an Elo penalty.
